My new pc rig won't post

I purchased all of the internals for my new pc and re-used my older case, but when I put it all together it won't post.

the parts are:

an i5 6700k

an evga 500W W1 power supply

this motherboard (https://www.amazon.com/MSI-Skylake-B150-Motherboard-M3/dp/B014YN6732/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=sl1&tag=bolivar08f-20&linkId=06c8555e9b4e13a924ee3a3da0dee120 )

a seagate 1tb hard drive

an 8gb stick of ddr4 ram by ballistic sport

and a xfx 4gb rx 480

Nothing seems wrong in the specs except that a i5 6700k doesn't exist (you probably meant i7). Can you show us the system that isn't POST'ing? (in a picture)

EDIT: I remember when I built my PC the fans would start up a bit then it shutdown (and at an initial phase, not even do anything). Try replugging the cables.

Non-Z Motherboard with a K CPU...

It should still POST, but it's a waste of some good overclocking headroom.

make sure all power cables are connected to the motherboard.

try without the GPU

That also happened with me. You could try to use some adapters, like i used on my monitor. I'm assuming the fans are spinning and it POST's, but the monitor is blank.

no, if your monitor supports hdmi and dvi for example, but hdmi won't work, and the gpu only provides hdmi, you could try to use a hdmi to dvi adapter. (example)

Fans spin?

Does the monitor flash [No Signal] when you plug it?

I had something similar. My rig didnt post with 2 stick of rams, only 1. I thought it was a bent pin in the cpu socket. I deattetched the cpu fan and the cpu, nothing wrong, but after I reassembled the parts everything was fine. So maybe the cpu is a littlebit off in the socket.

I had the same problem when I try to plug it to my motherboard instead of the GPU it self, it just flashes a little and says [No Signal].

I just twisted the cable a little and tried like moving the HDMI connector and it worked! (Don't move it too much or you'll ruin the port)

idk you might have a different problem...

Did you disassambled it? Also did you checked the pins?

i did try it with 2 different graphics cards plugged in (not at the same time) and the rx480 is pretty new so i don't think t will cause a problem

yes. Try different dimm slots for the ram stick and try the other PCI slot for the gpu, basically try every possibility
