Going to want something like this instead

as you can see here the pentium is not far behind the locked i5 for gaming

This has a nicer case and PSU, in addition the 1TB hitachi drive you have there is probably a server pulled drive that you really shouldn't use in a daily PC

Would the setup still be good using the i5 integrated graphics until I save up to get the graphics card? @deXxterlab97

I mean a 480 is a really decent card for 1080p gaming. I personally have a 480 4GB too. I don't know what can you up to. A 1070/Fury X is a bit too much

Those Pentiums and i3s have hyper threading so they have 4 threads, there's no different from an i5 in that regard, it'll run GTAV and Far Cry 4 fine

Do you mean streaming gameplay to twitch? to do that well you need an i7, you should just use GPU accelerated streaming for now, AMD has ReLive for that

but for function you'd be hard pressed to beat the master box cases at around $60

like simple things like popping off the front of the case for easy cleaning is well worth it

There's no reason to buy 2 single sticks of memory, you may have issues getting them running in a dual channel mode doing that

and it looks like you could easily fit
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2800 Memory  ($79.99 @ Newegg)

into that budget, as well as a potential Z270 board, but those are like $120

it'll be great if you can pick that up though, then you can upgrade directly to an i7 7700K

My budget now (excluding the graphics card until I save up for it) is $415, so the 16GB of RAM isn't really in my budget, and all the videos I've seen about RAM have said that 8 is well good enough for gaming and stuff. If I get that other motherboard you just told me about, would I still be able to put the pentium on it?

I'd hold out for AM4 in that case unless you've got like no PC to use for the time being, if you already have a PC I can't imagine buying this one with a GPU is going to be a much better experience

the AM4 APUs with DDR4 RAM should be fairly capable gaming machines without a graphics card, it's far better than intel's iGPU anyways

here's last gen APU benchmarks with much slower DDR3 RAM

I don't wanna wait too long, I have a PC now, but it doesn't work well, it's using like a duel core APU from a few years ago with 4 GB of ram. Would it be a good idea to get the pentium and use its integrated graphics while I save up money for a GPU or go with something else?

The intel iGPU isn't the worse thing ever, but the AM4 APU still should be a lot better if you aren't going to have a GPU soon

It'll just replace the current gen stuff, so it'll be at about the same price, launch is more questionable, looking like February

AMD's new stuff uses AM4, it goes from low end APUs to High end Ryzen chips, you'd need to wait and see AM4 boards, they'll launch at the same time naturally

Need a speccy of your current machine and it's power supply, you could potentially just buy your GPU now and then see what to do about your CPU later, though that would mean pentium G4560 or a low end Ryzen Chip

If I go with these parts https://pcpartpicker.com/list/WYcCtJ

Then I have $100.87 to go for the CPU and GPU for now until I get more money near August, I don't think any of the games I'm going to be playing will be very hard on the pentium's integrated graphics. If the AM4 and its motherboard are too much for my budget should I go ahead and get the pentium?

Don't just buy a motherboard, the motherboard prices are going to come down to where H110 and B150 boards are now, about $50-60 soonish, and then you're locked into that platform

And also don't buy the RAM, wait to see a sale or something, and don't buy 2 single sticks, you're going to want to get as fast RAM as you can, as it's starting to matter more and buying 2 sticks may have issues running in dual channel, and those are only 2133mhz, Without dual channel your iGPU will run literally at half speed

Still need that speccy though

Case and PSU are whatever, decent upgrade if you want, dunno what you already have, but again you could just save your money and wait

-

-

If you just want to upgrade ASAP, reuse your hard drive and case, case needs to be ATX though

and get this stuff, the Z270 board supports the high speed memory and lets you upgrade straight to an i7 7700K in the future, the memory will max out your iGPU as much as possible

And then save up for an RX 470/480 depending on sales

I can't reuse the case or hard drive because it's a family computer, and it's a computer where the full computer is in the screen, so I can't use its case and why do I need 16GB of ram instead of 8? I do have a 250GB SSD so I could just use that until I save for a hard drive

Well the sale ended, but it was a really good value buy for that like 5 minutes it lasted

Otherwise something like this then if you don't want to wait, didn't know it was an all in one PC
