Do I upgrade my laptop with no gpu?

Go to solution Solved by The Sloth,

get a ssd it will be a huge improvement also 8gb of ram will help a lot.

I own an acer aspire laptop with intel HD 3000 graphics, I am thinking of putting an ssd, 8gb of ram and a new i5 processor I'll spare the details as I only want to know if it's worth it and know how to buy parts and how to install them. As it will still have intagrated graphics will the new parts be even improve proformance that much I don't want to spend my money and get nothing back. Am I'm better off buying a new laptop? I can muster all the upgrade parts for like £80 which is considerably less than a new laptop.

P.s. I know I'm not running anything special on this either way I do have a dest op with a much better spec this is just for por table use.

I wouldn't spend much on the RAM. You probably don't need to upgrade past 4GB for anything you're doing.

The SSD would be the biggest improvement by far, and that's probably the only thing I'd bother installing.
However, make sure you look at reviews for each option before you buy. SSDs can have a massive impact on battery life.

i personally think you should move over to a desktop, because it is not realistic to be gaming without a discrete gpu

Except it says in the OP that he wants something portable...

Not everyone just uses computers to play games ;)

What i5 do you want to slot in and what is in the system? And are you sure it's rPGA and not rBGA?

Good RAM can improve a lot, but I don't think you need to go balls to the wall.

I have finally moved to a desktop. Also my guides are outdated as hell.

THE INFORMATION GUIDES: SLI INFORMATION || vRAM INFORMATION || MOBILE i7 CPU INFORMATION || Maybe more someday
