I am wondering why my computer is showing that my possessor can do 3.8 GHz while my CPU is rated for only 3.5. I have not overclocked my machine and I am wondering how this is possible. IMG_20170129_131525.jpg

There is a pic with the proof. Also my processor can not be unlocked.

TurboBoost can add performance.

Turbo Boost. Intel has a feature where the cpu may get higher clocks depending on the workload. It should not overheat so don't worry about it

Your CPU can turbo up to 3.9ghz. Its known as intel's turbo boost, giving extra processing power by increasing the speed on some cores to aid in certain applications, like single threaded workloads

I wouldn't trust task manager.

My I5-4670K showed up to be on 5.0GHz+, whilst it was running either @stock speeds or @4.4-4.6GHz.

It's called Boost clock. It would/wouldn't boost if you enable/disable Intel Speedstep in BIOS
