Most developers except for some like Nintendo will allow you to.

Square Enix has some kind of thing if I recall correctly but aside from that you should be good to go.

Just make sure to create a Google AdSense account! You'll need to be over 18 to create that.

How many subs and views do you have? If you join a network. They can help you.

And take a not insignificant portion of your revenue to do so.

Most (with the exception of nintendo) will allow you to use any game footage you created in review, and usually the cgi laden trailers they release before the game launches. If you're worried you can usually shoot the company in question a quick email, with your channel name, the game you're looking at, and the purpose of any videos you might be making. They'll send you a reply, and then you're covered in case some marketing douche gets upset.

They help with "legal" issues. Also, running Google Ad-sense is one the important ways to earn some revenue.

Sponsors provide significantly higher revenue than Google AdSense.

Usually you have no problems.

Even if some audio gets played and flagged, the video may still stay alive, just all future monetization ad moneys go to the claimant instead of you.

I get "This isnt a Warning, just a heads up" and then a similar msg to above saying I get nothing but video is okay to stay put.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Except some of the times the claimant isn't the legal copyright holder and has no claim on the material in question, but is chancing that those that claim against won't do any checks and make a counter claim (note: youtube doesn't even do checks on copyright claims or claims of any kind because google).

If you're dumb enough to run into "legal issues" when you've got a few hundred subs, and your channel is pretty much worthless financially, then you're ripping off someone instead of actually putting out real content. Running ad-sense is a no-duh, and it really does help you out initially, but it really is cents on the dollar at the start until you get a following. You might spend an hour building content, and a hour editing, and at 500 views you might make 16 cents... That does not pay for the software, the content creation, or your time for any stage... The hope is to build enough audience that it does pay for your time.

I'd like someone to chime in here with more relevant experience with the youtube copyright system within the last month.

As you've described it was current up to the last month. As I now understand it however the money is now placed in escrow. Simple solution that they ignored because they were a bunch of dumbasses that didn't actually care what the content creators were paid as long as they were paid.

Oh my god. Legal issues when facing copyrights. I for one, cannot upload certain things onto my channel. I added a 10 second clip from TV show, forgot its name. I got copyrighted and got my channel terminated.

Well yeah. Fox is particuarly nasty about it, but even if there is no relevant law, any tv broadcaster is going to protect it's content, and force you to defend yourself. It doesn't matter if it's a legal use. If they can force you to pay them, and their legal fees, then they've won. In your shoes I'd limit myself to snippets, no more than 2-3 seconds in length, that convey an idea instead of an entire joke. If you're using it to convey an idea, then it falls under fair use. If you use it for it's joke, then it's worth whatever the TV station wants to pursue.

Any content I broadcast (and it's mainly, "no I'm not cheating, this is how I built a character to spank your arse videos") Character build logs for various games, is with explicit permission. The only time I've run into problem was with nintendo who granted explicit permission, and then demanded that I pay them. ( I deleted the video, and then uploaded it to an alternate account, along with a 2 minute fuck nintendo rant.)
