Go for the faster RAM if the cost is nearly the same, i.e. about ten or twenty dollars difference.

 

Higher bandwidth can help in the majority of games that use a lot of calculations.

Go for the cheaper one. You really won't notice a difference, 2 - 3 fps if you're lucky.

They both matter. Do latency/frequency on some of the cheaper RAM chips. Whichever produces the lowest number is what you want.

Depends on the game TBH, Fallout 4 for example gives a massive FPS boost with faster memory, most others give 2-3 fps at most.

Not entirely true. Faster RAM can benefit any processor. Especially if it's CPU bound.

There must be a misunderstanding, I'm all for faster memory. I'd have faster memory myself but Hasewell-E's controller can't handle it.

ASUS X99-M WS. It's a quad channel board with only 4 slots and OC socket so it's it should perform up there with the ASRock mATX in terms of memory. A lot of 5820K's won't hit DDR4 3000 while overclocked so I'm lucky as it is.

For gaming grab 2800MHz if you find it cheaper than 3000MHz but overall faster is better! (if your motherboard supports it!)

The post I made was to show that it's faster even with higher CL. As I said before, if you can get faster memory at roughly the same price, then do it, your system will thank you for it in the long run

simple enough for me il just buy a high memory socket with a good price tag

I recommend getting a Z-board even with a locked CPU for the extra benefits that it offers and future expansion.
