What is the approximate lifespan of the OnePlus 3?

Freezanator

I'm planning on getting the OnePlus 3 as my first smartphone ever. I'd like to know, though, its approximate lifespan before it starts to act up and lag just like my mom's iPhone 4. Any OnePlus 3 or OnePlus users out there care to give me your opinions? There's a OnePlus service centre near me, so I needn't worry if the phone acts up, I just want to know how long it'll take to do so. Thanks! :)

well keeping up with hardware it probably won't last a year but it will keep going until the battery degrades and it dies. I have a htc one x around the house that is still going fine.

I use it for playing android games on.

It shouldn't ever get laggy and slow unless future android updates start requiring crazy amounts of resources.  If it ever gets laggy and slow, a simple factory reset would fix it.

Wow, I didn't know it'd be that easy to fix lags. :)

2 years, eh? I'm gonna need it to last at least 3 years. Better take good care of it if I get it. :)

2+ years, it has good hardware so you're fine.

It'll last you years unless you break it.

My LG G2 is over 3 years old (got it in October 2013) and it's still going strong although it's obviously showing its age. A phone like the OnePlus 3 will probably last longer than my LG G2. The performance on the OnePlus 3 is far superior to what I had on my G2 out of the box as well as the user experience and features. I'm quite sure a device bought today lasts longer than a device bought 3 years ago due to advancements in hardware and software. You also get more for your money in general. The mid range devices of today are better than the flagship devices of yesterday.

Should last you quite a while. The component that is most likely to fail (or degenerate) is the battery, but it's not that hard to replace the battery of the OP3 yourself.
