Hello everyone,

this might be a hardcore noob question, but here it goes:

How do you achieve a permanent GPU overclock (like on CPUs) which is present after a reboot? Or do you have to fire up Afterburner or whatever program every time you want to implement you overclock again?

I realize this makes smoothing out unstable overclock easier in case your system crashes every time, but I just want to have a stable overclock running all the time.

Thanks!

Flash a modified BIOS.

that is extremely unneccesairy. just check the apply overclock on startup button in Afterburner and you are good to go, you dont even need to save it as a profile but i would recomend doing so anyway

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

This is only a good idea after you have stress test it if not you might be in boot loop.

in that case a BIOS overwright is even worse. if your overclock fails on boot afterburner will notice and will put the card back at defult

Download MSI Afterburner, set your clocks you deem right, save them in any slot (number), lock it if you don't plan an editing anything and enable applying clocks on startup. You don't have to fire up it every time your pc starts, it is done automatic.

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.
