Which cooler will work better?

I bought a Scythe Mugen SCINF-1000 cooler a while ago for €4.

I'm wondering if it would outperform an Hyper 212 Evo

 

SCINF-1000 dimensions: 125 x 116 x 160 mm

Hyper 212 evo dimensions: 116 x 51 x 159

 

Which one do you think is better?

most likely wont outperform it, but perform similarly. If you don't have an evo just use the sythe and save for a water cooler or smthn. If you already have the evo just keep it.

it certainly looks like a beefy cooler using thicker and more heatpipes

 

what cpu are you cooling?

I achieved max temps of about 55°C AIDA64 stress test on a Intel Xeon E5 2670 @ 3.00GHz using the Coolermaster 212 EVO with the fan plugged directly into +12V. Though I haven't the other cooler to compare it to.

212 evo is donezo. The Cryorig H7 is better from aesthetic to size to performance.

When you say "size" it's actually larger (thicker in particular) this may limit motherboard compatibility and may cause other clearance issues in comparison to the 212 EVO. If it fits the board though then yeah go for it in place of the 212 EVO.

omg dude then its honestly whichever one you want that looks good

or for me its whichever fan runs more silent

 

either will cool an overclocked g3258 with no issues

Shouldn't be an issue for majority of boards tbh. Works fine for my itx rig

The cooler specs say it supports up to LGA775 sockets. And being such budget purchase, getting mounting kit would be pointless. I hope you can ghetto it on nicely.
