For the math nerds (again)

Sarcasm

Yeah. That makes more sense. The moment I knew x can't be an integer I should have started working in fractions instead of guessing x, though in this case that would have taken more time as my first guess for r was correct.

That's an approach that could very well have gone nowhere, if you aren't incredibly lucky guessing r.

Congratz. you managed to do it. I've seen one way to solve it in class that is pretty hard to explain, but here's the official solution

When I look at that solution example it makes me want to jump in a hole and stay there forever

well, not much luck was needed really, the integers were severely limited since they had to be between 2 and 100. Other fractions would either put E waaaaaaay past 100 or way too low to not even allow 3 integers in between, 1.5 was always the obvious choice and there were only about 3-4 values for x that would make sense to even try for this problem so it would have taken 5 minutes more if 1.5 didn't work. If a had to be below 500 and e had to be over 20000 or something like that then guessing it would have been pretty much impossible and it would have definitely taken me over an hour to find the proper solution, that is if I didn't give up halfway through of course.
