Posted January 23, 2017 1. Budget & Location I am currently living in Canada (west coast) and have around $1300 USD of funds avaliable to me. Here is my current build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/v9WBxY PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i7-7700 3.6GHz Quad-Core Processor ($309.69 @ SuperBiiz) Thermal Compound: Arctic Silver 5 High-Density Polysynthetic Silver 3.5g Thermal Paste ($7.49 @ OutletPC) Motherboard: MSI H170I Pro AC Mini ITX LGA1151 Motherboard ($118.99 @ SuperBiiz) Memory: Avexir Core Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory ($99.49 @ OutletPC) Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($169.49 @ OutletPC) Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GB 6GT OC Video Card ($264.89 @ B&H) Case: Silverstone Sugo SG13B-Q Mini ITX Tower Case ($41.99 @ Amazon) Power Supply: Corsair CXM 450W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($69.49 @ Amazon) Case Fan: Noctua NF-F12 PWM 55.0 CFM 120mm Fan ($17.33 @ OutletPC) Keyboard: Razer BlackWidow Tournament Edition Chroma Wired Gaming Keyboard ($121.94 @ B&H) Total: $1220.79Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when availableGenerated by PCPartPicker 2017-01-22 21:48 EST-0500 2. Aim With my current computer I have been limited to only being able to play games such as CSGO and League of Legends. I hope to be able to run more demanding titles such as Hitman and Rainbow Six Seige with my new setup. 3. Monitors I plan to use one (with the potential to upgrade to two) 1920x1080 monitors, as I believe that is the maximum my build can currently handle. 4. Peripherals The only thing that I would really want to change is the keyboard. I tried to find something such as the apple wireless keyboard due to it looking so slick and chic but more ergonomic, however I was unable to find one. I chose the razer one because it has been recommended to my by my friends, however if someone knew about a keyboard with the same style as the apple one, that would be much better. 5. Why are you asking for help? This is my first build and I wanted to make sure that the component and everything are going top quality as I want this computer to last me for a while. I am asking this group for their recommended changes to the build if there are any. For example I was wondering if there was any noticeable difference between the i7-7700 and the i5-7600 for my usage of the computer (I am not doing rendering or anything of that type). Posted January 23, 2017 1. Get a 6700, as some H170 mobo will need a BIOS update with a skylake chip. If not, get a H270/B250 board 2. Seems nice. I would get a 550w PSU for extra room in case of future upgrade though 450w is suffice 3. No need for thermal paste.
 Posted January 23, 2017 1) you do not need thermal paste, the stock heatsink comes with one. 2) 500GB of storage space won't last long, and with the games it seems like you will play, you will need to get more storage. 3) if you go for node 202, it comes w/ a PSU too, the case & psu will equal with the node 202 4) go for rx 480? i think if you went for the node202, a blower style cooler will be better AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D | Sapphire Pulse AMD Radeon RX 7900XT Triple Fan | G.Skill 32GB 2x D5 6000
 Posted January 23, 2017 MSI board - good, but you need a 6700 not a 7700 since some boards need updating to run Kaby Lake chips But you said you lived in Canada and that's a build from US PCPartPicker. For a couple more $, get an EVGA G2 550W PSU, it's slightly better. Why the BWChroma? Razer crap is well.. crap. Get a K70 by Corsair. AMD have stepped up their game with drivers and overall the RX 480 8GB is better than the 1060 6GB. idk
 It's a good PSU, enough for a 6700k and a 1070. I've even seen someone running a X99 build on it haha 480 is better in DirectX 12 and Vulkan games (rare as they are) and on par with the 1060 in DirectX 11 games. idk
 It matters when comparing same cards (e.g diffrenet 1060). you are comparing 1060 and 480.
