Hey there,

I was looking to purchase a set of headphones - I have never owned a high quality pair of headphones before other than my sehnheiser ones for my mp3. I am looking for something that will provide me with incredible sound quality in games such as FPS eg BF4 and just general gaming. However I would also like the headphones to be able to make my music sound good too. It does not haft to have a microphone attached but it is something that I think I would not mind having and would not mind paying slightly extra for. I don't have lots of money to spend but I am willing to spend up to £250 maybe even slightly over.

I don't have any preferences to over-ear or on-ear as I haven't ever actually owned a pair of headphones previously. Nor does wired or wireless make a difference.

Many Thanks,

Andrew

your first headphone purchase, and you want to pay 250 pounds? and dont get ones with microphones

Yeh I borrowed my friends V-Moda m100's and they sounded absolutely gorgeous - he said that for sound quality like that I would need to spend around that amount of money .Of course if you feel like I could get a better option cheaper then I am more than happy to save money!

All I will say is avoid Beats like the plague. My $30USD-ish Bluetooth headphones sound better than my friend's Beats. And it has a built-in mic, just they're better for listening to music/videos/games. The mic is ok.

If you're rich get the Siberia Elite's (I think that's what they're called). They're new from Steelseries.

I really like my srh840's and felt they were a step up from my hd595's for music, but I always liked the openness from the 595's for gaming.

Will work for electronic components and parts

I'll check both of them out - I'm not sure if I like open headphones, partly because I don't know how they are beneficial?

closed headphones make the sound feel like it is originating inside your head to very close around your head. open headphones sound like it is around you all the way out to whatever environment the sound was recorded in.

Ahhhh so you get more of a surround sound experience from open headphones? But then everyone can hear me listen to porn..I mean gaming!
