Vive Vs. Rift

should I get the Vive or the Rift? if the price of the pc makes no difference but the price of the headset and the controllers and sensors does matter

games I want to play= Superhot VR, job sim, space pirate trainer, American truck sim, tiltbrush, google earth vr, cowbots and aliens, the lab, soundstage, and accounting.

Basically the question is that is the oculus worth the extra money ($80) to get the lighter headset, better screen, better controllers, and superhot VR

i think he means more games & stuff will be more aimed for the vive and more game support will go in favor for the vive instead of the counter-part, the rift

Either would be good. @Sakkura has the Rift and I have the Vive. 

 

Both systems are easy to set up and play on. Sakkura would probably say that the audio solution of the Rift is better, but I say "nay, motherf#cker" as I like using my 5.1 surround as well as my headphones. The motion controllers for the Vive are comfortable while making any movements feel "natural". The "knuckle" controllers should be coming around 3Q17 and will be a much better experience. HTC is also working on a tracker accessory for guns or peripherals to be tracked while in VR.

To be honest, I wouldn't let anything like a company bias occlude your purchasing decision since that's A) silly, B) childish, C) Ferrari over Ford, D) did I mention childish?, and E) VR needs adopters, not fan-boys.

You have these people saying Vive hands down, and that's just blind fanboying. There are pros and cons, and it's certainly legit to prefer the tradeoffs with the Vive, but it's just as legit to prefer the Rift. 

 

Currently the Rift is more comfortable and slightly more convenient to use, has a bit more advanced controllers, and doesn't require as powerful a PC due to ASW. 

 

The Vive has the advantage of simpler and more robust tracking setup IF you have a large VR play area. It also has a front facing camera. It is getting  wireless upgrade kits at least a little sooner, and the upcoming "knuckles" controllers look good.

It's a software feature that means the VR experience is tolerable even if the PC cannot maintain 90 FPS. So you can run the Rift with a weaker PC than you could with a Vive. 

 

An FX-8320 should be mostly okay, since current VR games are not too CPU-heavy. It isn't ideal though.

Oculus is little bit more comfortable, lighter, you dont need your own headphones(less weight and cables), the quality feels better.
 

Touch controllers feels more natural and comfort than the vive controllers.
The cameras is only needed to connect to the PC.

Its little bit more expensive to get the full walk around experience on Oculus than vive because you have to buy extra camera.
Vive has camera on the front, how big deal that is, you have to decide.
You dont need to connect the light houses to the PC, just power.
