You were right, it is. Is it good for anything? Like low settings/medium settings gtav or something else?

It should be able to do low/med settings of any game at 1080p just fine. I know because I have one and my sister was using it for quite a while :P

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

Okay thank you. Yes I barely joined the forums. Do you have any budget build for this card? Here is a system that I got for free at a garage sale. I really want to play GTAV with my friends and was wondering what to do with this system. Any thoughts or ideas are greatly appreciated :) https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/726612-identifying-budget-pc/#comment-9241049

The GTX 560Ti biggest issue is its limited memory, 1gb for the most cases, that is her main bottleneck for modern titles. I actually have one sitting in my GPU bucket though mine's the Zotac custom version, the card is solid and will play anything up to 2012 in max setting at 1080p, beyond that you will  see yourself putting graphical quality down to keep up acceptable frames per second.

You could in cases of doubt just put the card in a PC and check it out through dxdiag.exe it will show which GPU it is regardless of drivers installed.

thanks for the information and sticker advice :) I don't mind bringing the resolution down since I imagine myself only playing for short periods of time. Do you have any combination of components that would go great with this card? I am thinking of selling the pc and saving a little for a custom build.

It would depend if you want to upgrade the card as well to something higher end when you can or not, like when I put my current PC up I had the money for all but a GPU, so for a month I used it with the GTX 560Ti, still a solid experience like the strong CPU allowed to even play GTA IV in every but shadows maxed out 1080p 60fps.

If you want a system just to balance up with the GPU though, you are good with a h110m motherboard and an i3-6100 with a single stick of 8GB 2400mhz or 2133mhz ddr4 memory(whatever cheaper; corsair value select is a good pick, kingston too). Power everything with a 500w PSU like the Corsair CX500, or if you need cheaper the Zalman ZM500-GLX, the storage you want, if you don't mind loading and booting times a seagate or WD 1tb 7200rpm hard drive is all you need, though if you want SSD experience I advise something like the SanDisk G26 or the AMD R3 (240gb both) because they are cheap and decent, and will be perfect for windows+ important applications.

Now the idea of going with this system is because the h110m chipset is still the latest  since even Intel decided to keep manufacturing it instead of a new h210m one, therefore it at very least it will live all Kaby Lake long giving you room to upgrade to an i5 7500 or even the i7 7700 if you ever decide you want a high end machine. The memory follows the same principle, buying a second stick for a total of 16gb of ram will be enough... if you ever feel the need to. A good PSU is also important as the GTX 560ti alone is very power hungry and having a 500w or more watts PSU is good to give you room to upgrade to any GPU you want in the future.

Thanks for the advice. Yeah, your experience with GTA IV is something I'm taking into consideration. I like what AMD is announcing lately and I think they are a great value. The only thing is that nvidia and intel seemed to be at the front end of everything and compatibility and future expansion is what I would like. But since I am not a huge gamer, I don't need those things at the moment. The RX 480 though is something I consider and the GTX 1070 as well. I would like to save for a build with a GTX 1070 as I think gaming at 1440p is great. Anything above that like 4k gets me thinking about virtual reality headsets. But for now I will work with what I can(my macs integrated graphics :( ) and this GPU. Thanks for the help though.
