AMD vs. Nvidia 2017 graphics card line-up speculation

I thought I'd post this spreadsheet of what I think this year's graphics card line-up is going. Yes, I know I've included last year's cards in this chart. And yes, I know this is pure speculation and is just me getting my hopes up. But hey, I made it and I might as well show someone.

Found it. It was Kyle.

check check the performance in this video and check the video i posted earlier with the GTX 1080...see how bad it destroy the vega chip...add +5% driver improvements, 7% overclocking and you'll be at 72FPS...GTX 1080 is 75-80FPS...in DOOM...4K ULTRA

This one is more based on a rumor that has be floating around since about November of last year about dual-card that was spotted. A lot of people believed it to be the RX 490 and that is was a dual Polaris card. However given that dual cards are typically the gpu moniker and then x2 at the end, I do not believe we will see a 490 card. I do believe there is a dual gpu card that we have not seen yet (AMD LOVES their dual cards). But whether or not that card is Polaris or Vega based I'm unsure of. RX 480x2 makes a bit of sense if the price it a little lower than 2 480s. They kept pushing the marketing that 2 480s beat a 1080 at less cost. Making a dual card even though it doesn't make a whole lot of sense sounds a lot like AMD to me.

I'd be willing to bet that was one of the Radeon Pro Duo cards.

Except that a new architecture (which Vega IS) typically constitutes a rollover of the numbered series of cards. Polaris was simply as stop-gap until they were ready with vega, and so Nvidia didn't dominate the market completely. Also, yes its possible the HBM cards might be branded as "Fury" cards. However, given that the "Fury" brand is fairly new and didn't quite live up to people's expectaion of the card, it's doubtful that they will stick with that moniker.

It seems like you're just using random phrases from tech articles strung together by a flimsy knowledge of AMD's GPU nomenclature. This is the third generation where the X60 GPU corresponds with low-end ($100-$120), the X70 GPU corresponds with low mid-range ($170-$190), and the X80 GPU corresponds with high mid-range ($220-$260). They have never been several times more powerful than corresponding previous-generation X60, X70, and X80 GPUs. They need to replace GPUs at that price point.

You're being completely ridiculous to state that an X60 card will cost $500, and X70 card will cost $600, an X80 card will cost $700, and an X90 card will cost $900. This is why I said you seem to have a neophyte's understanding of how this has worked for the past few years, and why you need to do more research before making such bold claims. Furthermore, it flies in the face of common sense. Why would AMD replace their low-end $100 RX 460 GPU with a card five times its price? Why would AMD replace its low-midrange RX 470 GPU with a card four times its price? Why would AMD replace their high mid-range RX 480 GPU with a card three times its price?

BTW, did you forget about the 290/290x and 390/390x in your comparison? Those were meant to compete with the 970 and 980 cards, where as Fury was meant to compete with the 980 Ti.  Also, branding aside, I do believe that the cards under the Vega 10 part of my chart is what we will see released next by AMD in terms of performance. And I do believe the Vega 11 will be one card, and probably released around September - November.

The replacement for the 290, 290x, 390, and 390x isn't here yet. There are no new AMD cards to compete with the 1070 and 1080. That's what Vega is doing. The Vega card shown off at the Ryzen event competes with the GTX 1080, as it is capable of running triple-A titles (namely, Battlefront's Rogue One DLC) at a locked 4k 60FPS. As of now, the only cards at the high-end for AMD are the Fury cards, and those haven't been replaced either. The high-end Vega GPU shown off at the Ryzen event aims to replace the Fury cards for sure, and perhaps we'll see a cut-down version to be the next X90 card. Or maybe there won't be one.

The new X60 cards will not offer 8 teraflops of computing power to beat a GTX 1070 and compete with a GTX 1080. Whenever it comes out, it will replace the current RX 460, which means it needs to be faster than the RX 460's current competitors; the 1050 and 1050 Ti.

The same goes for X70 and X80 cards. Furthermore, I'm sure  AdoredTV's video titled 'Fallout: New Vega' has been posted here. There is every indication that the big Vega GPU is not much faster than the 1080 at all, let alone possess an inconceivable fourteen teraflops of compute performance.
