What Windows tablet or 2 in 1 should I get?

Im finding a Windows tablet/2in1 that can replace my old iPad. I will be using it for documents and powerpoint. I will also be using it for watching Youtube videos, programming, and browsing the web. I don't need a lot of storage, since I will be saving my files on Onedrive. I want the device to last long.

Which tablet or 2in1 should I get?

DUE TO MANY REQUESTS I HAVE LEFT THIS FORUM FOREVER.

I'd take a look at the Surface Pro lineup, and any Core i5 2 in 1 from reputable brands like Lenovo or Dell. Then compare price and user reviews

I'd get the lowest spec surface pro 4. Why? it's fanless and sips battery. The core m3 is like 5 watts so you'll easily get the advertised battery life using edge.

Like genuinely, it's 20% off right now or something ridiculous like that so why not? I guess you could wait for the Pro 5 if you wanted.

Lenovo think pad yoga with i7 is cheaper than Microsoft surface with i7. You want an i7 for programming.

are you having a giggle?

(I guess it depends how complex the programme is but still, I very much doubt that he'd want a 2 in 1 for heavy programming)

Not sure if it will be powerful enough for programming, but take a look at the ASUS Transformers and the HP Stream 7.

Programming - like straight text-based coding, not games or any 3D work - will not benefit from those poor dual-core excuses for i7s in the xxxxU and xYxx CPU lineups. Might as well get the most portable, longest battery life device you can find. Try a Surface (or pro) 4 or maybe wait for the 5.

I have the i5 Surface Pro 3 and that's great for literally everything. Trouble is it'll get hot sometimes like in games like prison architect and such.

I'd get the m3 one because it's cool as a cucumber and passive so there's no way dust will affect it in the long run. Dust is my main worries with my Surface as there's no way of cleaning it.

I reckon you'll be fine with the m3 one for programming. I have a degree in computational chemistry and the stuff that I did could easily be done on the most basic pentium laptops. If you're doing big graphical stuff I'd consider the i5 but I bet you'll be fine either way.

I would avoid the m3 version, and spring for an i5 version. The performance doesn't justify the $900 price tag (and the 4GB i5 is going for the same price right now), whereas the Core i versions are somewhat reasonable.

I've got the i5/4GB Pro 4, and cleaning it isn't an issue. A quick blast of a air duster is more than enough.
