Is this radiator space enough for my setup?

Hey peeps,

I am currently specking up my 900D with watercoling gear. I currently have waterblocks on the 5820k, the 2 980ti classifieds, motherboard mosfets and chipset.

I am going to install a 480 on the top, another 480 in the basement and an existing 280 behind the 480 in the basement (might be hard as I have a new power supply that is longer coming: AX1500i). All this leaves me with the remains of my old predator 360, which has the attatched ddc pump and 360mm radiator. I have nowhere to put it so I was thinking of modding the case and make a new mount for the 360 rad inside (I have sortof found a place for it). But is it all worth the pain and hassle? is my other cooling setup enough or do I need this extra 360 rad. Pease help I am getting conflicting answers from everywhere. :)

Specs to cool:

i7 5820k @ 4.5Ghz 1.225V: supremacy evo plexi

GTX 980ti Classified x2 1520/8000 MHz: gtx 780classy

X99 chipset: RVE block

Rampage V extreme VRM and mosfets: RVE block

All waterblocks are manufactured by EK waterblocks as are all the fittings and radiators :)

Coolers used:

Dual D5 pumps, series

one bay res and an X3 res

EK XE480 radiators x2

EK CE280 radiarot

Noctua NF-F12 or NF-A14 wherever required

Additional part: Remainder of a predator 360 without the cpu block.

- 360 radiaror

-3x Vardar fans

-ddc pump of some sort

-fan and pump controller built in :)

So far I was using the frankenstein predator with an extra 280 in the loop to cool my components but my CPU got in the high 80s under load which is weird as I have it running quite low on voltage :/

Regards,

Cheers guys,

If I reattatch the CPU block on the predator alongside reservoir and a new GPU block, will it be enough to cool the following?

i7 3930k oc to 4.5 Ghz 1.325 V

GTX 980ti HOF with waterblock

the GPU is out for RMA so it will be back later on.

is the 360 Predator enough for these?

Should be just about enough. The general rule of thumb for rad space is that you want 120mm fkr each component that you're cooling + an extra 120mm. So you should be fine.

Cheers guys,

I shall repurpose the 360 :)

I've got the same setup on a 360+240 rad and I see idle temps at 45C for the CPU and load temps of about 65C for all three. The difference is that I've got low speed noctua fans, so depending on the noise level and temps deemed acceptable it should be enough or not enough :)

i have 7 800rpm fans on my setup, and all i hear is the pump (4 TT Riings and 3 noctua PPC 2000's on the back). My idle temps sit at ~26C on cpu and 27 on GPUs. It does get pretty loud under load though, but temps don't pass 66C :)

Ah! I've only got single fans on mine so 5 fans total, so that might make a difference too.

I feel the 280 rad is just wasted money its going to add extra cost with fittings lines etc

run the 2 480's and be done with it.

I already have the 280 from before haha. I used to have a 360+280 setup for my 980ti sli + 5820k in my 750D as that was just about the max it would hold without modifications (I am not cutting my case, it is too pretty and i use Bluray burners).

As I upgraded to the 900D, I can now fit 2 480s in the case as well as repurposing the 280 in the back of the basement.

I was just left with the lone 360 which seemed to have no viable use anymore haha :)
