Wait wait, just to confirm, you have a 10,000 pound budget? We could help you build a top-of-the-line 4K gaming machine for under 3,000, no need to overspend! What sort of things are you looking to do with your PC and when were you planning on building?

Found a neat little build on pc part picker that would be perfect http://pcpartpicker.com/b/yf6XsY. Since your hardware is so outdated, time to start anew. take out the monitor, and various software in that build and you'd be looking around 8-9k, money leftover to buy some games

I'd go with:

Base specs, add on whatever you like:

-i7 6900K (CPU)

-EVGA GTX 1080 Classified[2x SLI] (GPUs)

-ASUS Rampage V Edition 10 (Mobo)

-Corsair 900D

-Corsair AX1500i (PSU)

-A nice Cablemod C-Series set (Cables)

-NZXT Hue+ (Awesome lighting)

-Corsair K95 Platinum (Keyboard)

-Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum (Mouse)

-ASUS PG279Q (1440p 144hz monitor)

-Sennheiser HD 800s (Best headphones)

CPU: $1000

GPUs: $1500

Motherboard: $575

Case: $350

PSU: $400

Cables: $100

Lighting: $60

Keyboard: $200

Mouse: $70

Monitor: $800

Headphones: $1000

That's like half the budget. You could probably get a cheaper rig, but I'm just throwing out some base specs to start off. :)

If this is for gaming I would just stay with whatever 4k monitor you have now, then use some of that extra budget money to buy an ASUS ROG PG27UQ (4k IPS 144hz baby) and a corresponding SLI GPU solution when that comes out. :P

My first reaction: HOLY SHIT

My second reaction: You are going to love this PC, man. It will be a HELL of an upgrade from a GTX 280. This man has ASCENDED ONCE AGAIN!

GPU comparison, but his will be about 1.8x the single Titan X

But really dude, you are blowing this off like it's nothing. a lot of people can barely afford a 400 pound system, yet "la la la la la, 10,000 pounds is my budget." Are you Bill Gates? :)

You probably didn't need to get a 1500W PSU. I have an SLI PC too and 1050W was more than enough, leaving plenty of room for upgrades down the line too.

I agree though, overall you'll love this PC once It's built.
