Do you guys think i can achieve 1440p/60fps on ultra settings with this build ? I feel like i wont be able to get that performance ? If not what if i overclock the RAM / CPU / GPU ?

Please help me !

You should be able to reach 60 fps at 1440p on ultra settings. A 1080 could probably hit around 90-100 fps honestly. If you wanna save a few bucks you could downgrade to a 1070; it should still be able to hit 1440 60fps at ultra and it costs $200-250 less.

It more or less should be able to achieve 60fps in most games :P

So...how the 1080 averages 93.1fps across 15 games at 1440p?

Watch dogs 2 is especially hard on the GPU compared to other games. Unless you plan on playing it a lot, though, don't worry since a 1080 will crush 1440p in nearly all titles.

It will run better. But is it such a big deal if you'll have to reduce setting or two from ultra to high in some games?

Watch Dogs 2 doesn't seem to be a very CPU bound game so overclocking your CPU probably won't make a huge difference in that game but in others it might. By the looks of it you'll probably get a 5-10% boost in performance by overclocking your GPU which would probably just push the average over 60. The minimums might still be below but your averages most likely will be above.

Again, don't stress about it. In most games your minimums will be above 60 so it won't matter in most cases. As well, I'm guessing that by your previous posts that you have the Asus PG279Q, which has G-Sync, so even if the fps dips below 60 you won't really notice it at all.

true , i agree with you , may i know what you think about my 6700k choice over 7700k ? i feel like i've done a huge mistake by doing that ;(

The gpus will overclock itself with gpuboost 3.0 so overclocking it some more will only get you a little increase form there.

They perform exactly the same clock for clock so...nah, you've not really made a mistake.

what's the maximum overclock i can reach with my current build with 6700k ?

that's hard to guess. it really depends on the silicon lottery. some 6700k will get crazy overclocking capabilities while others will have lower than average overclocking capabilities.

Also. At 1440p you can reduce AA to very low or off to increase fps without much hit to the aesthetics

As Brooksie359 said, it depends from CPU to CPU. That being said, with the D15 you should definitely be able to reach 4.7 ghz, and have a fair chance at reaching 4.8. If you get higher than 4.8 you've definitely won the silicon lottery.

Don't sweat not having got a 7700k. Yes, it performs better but it's only about 5%. Most 7700ks reach 5ghz compared to 4.8 ghz on the 6700k so the difference really isn't that big.
