AMD Radeon R9 290 starts listing in price search engines

AMD should be releasing the AMD Radeon R9 290 non X model by tomorrow. The price is still unknown but everybody was expecting this product to be sub 500 EUR. EU based price search engine Geizhals now is listing the product for as low as 475 EUR (incl VAT). Meaning that in the end you may expect a more typical 449 EUR price tag. Perhaps even lower.

R9 290x is already listed for €485

GTX 780 is €410

The R9 290 will probably drop slighlty below €400

Yep, it has been a very nice chain reaction.

290-x forced Nvidia to unleash the 780ti.
780ti forced the price of the 780 way down.

Low priced 780 means the 290 (non-x) has to be priced competitively

Wasn't it expected to be sub 500 USD?

I'd reckon it'll have to be cheaper then £400 as you can get a Windforce 780 from OCUK for £400.

Yes but the retailers had their prices way too high before the 290x release
