TP Link Archer MR200 FW Upgrade

Hello everyone,

 

I just purchased the TP-Link Archer MR200 4G router and I want to upgrade the firmware to get better performance avoid any pre-existing bugs etc.

 

I cannot seem to find which version is the correct one for my router.

 

I downloaded the following one after navigating into TP-Link's site:

Archer MR200v1_0.9.1_0.0_up_boot(151105)_full_update_1023_1015.bin

 

After trying to upgrade with this binary I get the error

" Error code:4506
The uploaded file does not match the device's current hardware version. "

 

This is my current configuration as out of the box:

 

Firmware Version:        0.9.1 0.0 v004a.0 Build 160412 Rel.38588n

Hardware Version:       Archer MR200 v1 00000001

 

 

Has anyone faced the same issue?

Is there any suggestion of how to find the correct firmware? TP-Link's site is very confusing and refers to HW version only as v1 and region EU.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

I would try going to the web GUI for the router's local address. Usually they allow you to update the firmware to the latest version through there.

The only thing available for firmware in the web management GUI is this :

I have to provide a file downloaded locally in my PC.

This is way more user-unfriendly than it should be
