Will cartridges be a thing again?

That kind of ticks me off. EA has the gall to sell "physical" copies, but in reality, it's a product code you register for on Origin.

Then again, Doom was only marginally better. It came with a DVD... that saved me 9GB out of the now 75GB I need to download.

I still have a hard time accepting some games huge sizes... I haven't played DOOM so I have no idea if it justifies being over 50gb of required space. However CoD IW 70gb of required space for a relatively short linear game felt unjustified to me, The Witcher 3 which is a recent master piece only needs 40gb for a huge open world filled with options game and even going back to old school Half-Life 2 was only 4gb and still a better game than CoD IW in my opinion.

Just because hard drivers are getting cheaper that doesn't mean developers shouldn't make more with less =x

i was so mad , its the only reason i went and bought a physical copy , got out of the shop opened it , and damn was i mad knowing the size of the game and my shitty internet

I feel like publishers could create a read-only thumb drive and ship the game on that to people who really want a physical copy and don't want to deal with 8+ DVDs.

But nope. They think we live in Japan where the average internet speed is 50Mbps or something.
