Need help for dual monitor set up

Winter Solstice

hi guys!

Im trying to build a dual monitor set up and i really need some help..  These are the specs of my PC:

Processor: Core I5-6400 2.7 Ghz 6th GEN SKYLAKE

Motherboard: ASUS B150 Pro Gaming Aura

RAM: 16GB (2x8) Avexir Core DDR4 2400

HDD: Seagate 1 TB 64 MB SATA 6GPS

SSD: Sandisk 240 GB

PSU: 800W

GPU: ASUS ROG Strix GTX 1060 OC 6GB GDDR5 192 Bit

OS: Windows 8.1 Pro

Just want to ask a couple of questions.

1. Can my PC handle 2 monitors?

2. Will 2 monitors affect the performance of my GPU specially while gaming?

3. How do you set up 2 monitors? Do you plug it all in the GPU or 1 in GPU and 1 in the motherboard?

Im really a noob at this stuff.. sorry :D I will really appreciate all your help, tips and guides..:)

Hey there, I am running 2 monitors with my RX 480. ANY modern PC can handle dual monitors. All you need to do is plug both into your GTX 1060 and it's done! Even my intel HD graphics could run dual monitors fine. As for gaming, your second monitor will affect it slightly, maybe 2 fps. I find when I open Opera (My web browser) the FPS decreases a lot. like down to 40fps from 200fps while playing CS:go so I just minimize it.

I have more dedocated WAM than you on my Minecraft server!

Specs:

RX 480 Sapphire Nitro+

i5 4460 w/ Raijintek Aidos cooler

XFX TS 650W PSU

Cheap OEM Acer motherboard w/ Cheap dollar tree Micro-ATX case

12GB DDR3 Decocated WAM

1TB Seagate Barracuda HHD

BTW I live in the UK so if I don't know where you live I will quote all prices in £

1. Can my PC handle 2 monitors?

Sure. I wouldn't advise gaming on both at the same time. This would reduce your performance.

if you game on both then the answer is yes but if not then no.

You can plug both into one GPU. I have my left monitor plugged into HDMI on my GPU and my right monitor connects via Dual Link DVI-I.

If it's first person I don't see how your crosshairs would be in the middle of a bezel

No but gaming on both monitors would cause the GPU to effectively play games at 3840x1080 ........

That would be a terrible experience on anything lower than a GTX 1070 or 1080.

shouldn't do too much... Unless you're using Chrome with 20+ tabs open....

Auxiliary displays take very few resources.

Moved to Displays--the Guides and Tutorials subforum is for posting guides and not asking for tips/advice.
