Using android phone a second monitor

I would like to know how to mirror my Linux Mint desktop to my Android phone.  All I need is to see on the phone screen what I see on the monitor, the phone doesn't need to act as in input device.  A wired connection is preferable to a wireless one, and free is preferable to $. :D

 

The phone has a micro-usb jack.  The motherboard has d-sub, dvi, and a number of usb 2.0 and 3.0 jacks.  The monitor also has d-sub and dvi.

 

I looked, but couldn't find a simple solution for just mirroring Linux to Android.  Thanks in advance.
