Which compression type for Ubuntu 14.04?

deleted_member_030719

I am running a gaming server on Ubuntu 14.04 and it has to save thousands of player files, and a few dozen GBs. I am wondering, which would be the best method for a compressed backup? Only options atm: tar.gz, zip, rar

I need speed over compression.

Why not test it.

THere about the same and both easily scriptable(id go zip or tarball)

I have, can't really find a difference except zip causes crashes/major lag, and rar doesn't compress that great.
