Can u use Samsung 960 on every motherboard whit m.2?

Hi!

I currently have a Msi m5 z170 motherboard whit a i7 6700k. I got som money for my Christians and thinking to buy a Samsung 960 256gb m.2 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA12K54D0485&cm_re=samsung_960-_-9SIA12K54D0485-_-Product) since my Samsung evo 850 255 gb is running low on space. My question is: Will my Msi z170 m5 motherboard be possible to use the full performance of a Samsung 960? Or will something be a bottleneck ?

Just one more question will it work in every m.2 slot? Im building a pc for my brother and thinking to get it for him too.

It goes in any m.2 slot.
