Sub $100 headphones or headsets with good bass

ivan134

I'm an audio noob. I have hyperx cloud 2s and the bass is terrible even without the dongle and using Windows equalizer. If there isn't any sub $100, how about up to $150?

Beyerdynamic DT770. Unless you care about looks, then V-Moda.

EDIT: Have a look here as well

There seem to be multiple models and this is cheapest. Does this have good bass?

I would stick to the 770 pro 80 ohms model. They "tend" to have the most bass, most common, and its fairly easy to drive. Even my iphone 5 can drive them up to uncomfortable levels :D

Note: i say tend cos i read there are minor difference in sound. Source - Head-fi

I'm curious about this. I've heard conflicting stories about the iPhone's ability to power headphones - guess it depends on the model? Or are the Beyers just super easy to drive?

It's quite easy, well in my case tho. The funny thing is, my old mobo can't drive these headphones but my iphone 5 says otherwise lol, even up to the levels that i can't stand it anymore.
