So the Asus GTX 1080 Strix OC edition finally came in stock on Amazon. Previously Amazon said that it ships within 1-2 months, but today is changed to "In Stock."

When I clicked to add the item to the cart, it said: "Sorry, content is not available."

However, the video card was still added to the cart and I was still able to checkout the item. It says my order has been placed and should arriving on the set date.

So should I be worried even though my order was placed successfully? Because I never had that message before.

Also, I have always ordered my graphics cards from Newegg and this is my first time ordering from Amazon. The card is still not in stock on Newegg though. Is there a difference between the quality of the products they ship between the two companies? Or is each equally as reliable.

If it placed the order, then there is a good chance you might have bought the only one.

There is also a possibility that the shipper doesn't actually have the gpu in stock and accidentally tried to sell it you. This has happened to me before, but with a brushless motor and ESC combo for an RC car. Amazon basically just contacts you after it fails to ship from the seller to say "sorry the product is no longer available" and then they quietly give you a full refund like it never happened.

I would contact Amazon, just for confirmation. They'll basically say, "yeah you're good, it'll be on the way soon" or  "we're not sure, let's wait and see if it ships." Either way, I wouldn't be worried. You'll know for sure within a few days, to a week at max, if the seller had the item to package up and ship out.

Its a simple system error.  Regardless, if you have a order number then you're golden.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

It is actually sold by Amazon, not by a third party seller. I actually just called them and they said everything should be fine and I should be receiving my item on time. Previously, the item said it would ship between 1-2 months, but today it changed to "In Stock" so I guess that means they just got some new stock, so everything should be fine.

I just wanted to ask, between Newegg and Amazon, I shouldn't worry about the quality of the products they ship right? Because I usually buy all of my items from Newegg. Both Amazon and Newegg are like the top tier companies for PC parts?

Yup! I have my order number and everything. I also double-checked to make sure it is the right model (O8G) and confirmed it with them when I called customer service as well.

Absolutely. Personally, I only order online stuff from Amazon then newegg. Amazon is my preferred online choice, but newegg sells PC components cheaper most of the time, especially because newegg doesn't ask you to pay tax on pc components like Amazon.

The only better place for PC parts is a Micro Center store, if you have one near you. They can have the absolute best PC prices, but you have to go to the physical store.

The reason that you pay tax on amazon is because they have a physical location, that may be distributing or something in your state, while in your case newegg does not. You do not pay taxes on items that are interstate commerce.
