Can I install Windows 98?

Hello. I am running a system with an i3-6100 and a Z170 board and all that fancy new stuff. I am wondering if, for fun (on a separate HDD), I could install Windows 98 to use on my machine. I have the install disc, and with it I have Windows 95 and Windows 2000 Professional. Can any of these run with my hardware? I don't want to waste my time trying if it won't ever work.

the problem is window 98 is a different era os, today hardware is too high end even if you force window 98 on it won't work vary well to say the least.

Windows 98 won't boot if you have more than 1.5GB of RAM. Anything NT-based will boot but won't use more than 3GB.

Actually, as the forum, in a literary sense, is a conversation between individuals, a question mark is perfectly reasonable as a response. Grammatically correct would be the forum users using double quotations when speaking to you.

Base Clock overclocking is possible to a larger extent on Skylake, though that is one hell of an OC.

A VM is your best bet since the key is still necessary and the hardware may fool around with the OS whereas the VM can be accessed at whim and comes with the necessary code to stabilize the hardware-software communications.

Well, I take back my comment on the OC. I just got my i3-6100 to 4.4 with no problems.
