My i5-5200u would reach 104Cº after hours of playing something like CS:GO, the only way was to raise it up and have a normal fan blowing cold wind in it on way the air was blown on the heatsink and also under it. Doing so reduces temperature to 89Cº still under playing load and performance stays unchanged.

Does it only happen in black ops 2? maybe you should try testing it on other games as well with the same requirements.

I did some research and you should be getting about the same, or at least close to the performance of a Radeon 6850 or 7770.

Can you download some free software to monitor the temperatures of your laptop (CPU, GPU, Chipset, etc.) and check out the readings make sure it doesn't get close to anywhere near 80C as this is the throttling point of some of the desktop CPUs, not sure about laptops CPUs though.

You can bark like a dog, but that won't make you a dog.

You can act like someone you're not, but that won't change who you are.

Finished Crysis without a discrete GPU,15 FPS average, and a lot of heart

How I plan my builds -

Spoiler

For me I start with the "There's no way I'm not gonna spend $1,000 on a system."

Followed by the "Wow I need to buy the OS for a $100!?"

Then "Let's start with the 'best budget GPU' and 'best budget CPU' that actually fits what I think is my budget."

Realizing my budget is a lot less, I work my way to "I think these new games will run on a cheap ass CPU."

Then end with "The new parts launching next year is probably gonna be better and faster for the same price so I'll just buy next year."

25-30 fps on integrated graphics sounds about right to be honest. If you were expecting something like a solid 60fps, thats not possible.

No but this is IRIS Graphics. This is not Intel Potato Graphics 520 or something.

Iris Graphics are twice as fast as the non iris graphics in any given product family/generation. In this case, Iris 6100 is 2x faster than Intel HD 5500 (both are from Gen 8).

Judge a product on its own merits AND the company that made it.

Is this a mac :)? Not many PCs use the 28 watt Iris Graphics SKUs.

But what resolution are you trying to game at?

I'm not sure what the issues could be other than thermal throttling or just the games being too demanding.

Have you tried a lighter title? Try Minecraft, Dota or League and tell me if it still isn't playing nicely.

I also tried games such as Overwatch and LOL but same story....

Okay I know it won't run Overwatch, but LOL should work at 60fps.

I had laptop worth 450€ that was able to run LOL at 1080p 60fps on external monitor. Not sure what settings, but it way playable.

Download HWmonitor and check your temps.
