No signal/picture, please help!

Hi, I have a problem. When i connect VGA or HDMI cables from my laptop to a samsung S24B300 monitor I get no picture.

 

The monitor is working, it's been tested with another laptop with the same cables and it instantly displayed the picture. Any help wouls be appreciated.
