Best 3.5mm mic for Camcorder

Preferably not too expensive (under $50 would be nice but I can spend more if it's worth it?)

EDIT: It doesn't have to be on camera, it can be a lavalier mic.

How about the Rode VideoMic GO?

That's a bit expensive.

How about telling us which model camcorder you have, because some do not have a shoe mount for mounting a mic.

For a decent one, get a Insignia On-Camera Shotgun Video Microphone.

It's a little over $50, but it's worth it. I think.

OK I'm looking at the photos of the camera, it doesn't appear to have any sort of shoe mount to put a mic (even a Rode VideoMic) on it.  But check out the accessories section on B&H.  Perhaps consider getting a lav mic and an extension cable?  If you want to attach a shotgun type of mic, you'll have to use some sort of base plate on the camera's tripod screw hole at the bottom and then mount the mic onto that base plate.

You'll need to use something like this

Vello_CB_600_Straight_Flash_Bracket_1417

or this

ziv_bca_712r_dual_shoe_camera_video_c_14

If you want to mount a mic on the camera.

Otherwise get a lav mic, not necessarily this exact model.

Which lav mic would you recommend?

Is this one good?

Probably.  Audio Technica is a known brand that makes very nice mics.  Not that many choices that I would recognize as being good at your budget level.
