Rate my setup

Hello Sir,

I have the following setup:

(bought it in summer 2015)

Intel Core i7 4790K @ 4.00 GHZ

Asrock H97 Pro4 (I know I cant OC this motherboard, but I dont want too anyway. Even though a K processor is worth it because it runs .4 GHZ faster than non K even without OC.)

16GB Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR3-1600

be quiet! Straight Power 10 500W

Corsair Air 540

256GB Samsung 850 Pro

1TB WD Blue HDD

And I will buy a MSI Geforce GTX 1070 Sea Hawk X (watercooled) soon.

 

My purpose with this setup is to reach perfect gaming experience in maxed settings in every game in 1440p on a 60hz monitor with 60fps.

Love the case, although, I am more of one for the 740. You're using an older CPU/RAM, to which I prefer DDR4; I don't it doesn't make much of a difference. You're also using 850 PRO SSD, which is overpriced for how little of an improvement it gives you over the EVO/MX300. 1070 watercooled isn't worth it, I'd save a little more and get a 1080 watercooled.

I'd rate the build 8/10. You're ready for 1440@60 and will get higher frame-rates in tougher CPU-bound games thanks to the high speed and hyper-threading of the i7.

 

I could suggest finding a nice board on Ebay with a Z97 chipset and possibly another drive for just games.

Yea, I'm going to say the same thing everyone else said... Get a Z97 board...  Get yourself a cheaper SSD, like a SanDisk 250gb drive, and use that extra $20-40 on a Z97 motherboard.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

8/10. get a z97 motherboard.

SSD is too expensive... just get an 850 Evo.
