Exploring a open world? Strategy? Sniping 12 year olds 360 noscope style? Rhythm game?

These are some pretty popular options, depends on the type of genre you want. I'd watch videos of popular games and also watch some Twitch streams.

I highly recommend Borderlands 2 and all its DLC. It's a loot shooter RPG so its 3 games in one. Really funny game too.

Coming from someone with over 2000 hours in TF2, I wouldn't suggest it since the community is kinda dying and it has a very high learning curve. Not very beginner friendly.

That being said, it's still very fun for people willing to put in the time
