So theres occasionally a new user posting links to some dodgy things, usually in arabic or korean for some reason. Another forum I am a member of has a good idea of restricting new users from posting links. You need to provide replies to a number of posts and gain some community reputation before you are allowed to insert links into a post. I think LTT should do this.

You sure you just don't know if they're dodgy or not because you're not from the country those sites are from, and have no idea what their reputations are, or even what the contents of the site are?

Router: R3 2200G @ stock, 4GB DDR4 2400, what are cases, stock cooler

theres one on the forum now in english, i cant find it i think its just been removed. If you havn't seen the arabic ones they spam crazy shit and you can tell its a bot

If your concern is with bots, then I agree that is a valid concern. However, the ability for a new user to post links, especially if they are asking for assistance (most common reason people sign up) is vital. Yes, what you brought up is potentially a problem. However, for individuals who post bad links it'll simply have to be up to the community to be weary of links, and for bot detection that's a whole nother ball game.

We recently implemented an improved spam filtering system and I can confirm personally that it has caught and prevented several of those arabic spam posts from showing up.

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it. 

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff. 

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

No it actually is a filter system.  I've seen it block several attempted spam rampages

Problem is that this would be impossible. There are ton of times when users from countries which aren't supported by PCPP (some main ones being China, India and South-East Asia) and instead post the store(s) they are using. Now those links can be pretty close to what spammers site would look like. Writing you don't understand, very poorly made UI etc. and still they are legit shopping places for locals. Having mods whitelisting those posts one-by-one would be just bad. Advertising and spamming isn't even too bad here. People do overreact to it, though.

I haven't seen it block one of them yet which means they haven't tried to make one because I don't recall seeing reports about them either
