Sooo I spilled on my 1070

So I was moving my keyboard out of the way and a cup of soup (not the whole thing it was mostly empty) fell onto my case dripped inside and got on my 1070, spillage was localized to the rear of the card. I dried it with a paper towel but my system won't boot with the card plugged in. I bought it in october so I'm kinda pissed lol. Anything I can do for it?

System: i7 4790K, Hyper 212 EVO, 16 GB Crucial Ballistix, GTX 1070 Super clocked, MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition, Corsair RM 750, Corsair 750D (with 2 additional 140mm NZXT fans up top for exhaust.)

It's likely not dry inside yet, take it apart and give it a good isopropyl alcohol bath, then leave it to dry overnight. There is still hope.

Clean it off as best you can and try RMA'ing it if it still doesn't work, don't tell em you spilled soup on it, just say it stopped working randomly.

would leaving it as is hurt? luckily i still have my old 780. I'm honestly out of energy to deal with it today. I was moving my stuff around on my desk because I bought an imac used today for $300 as a back up computer LOL SO IRONIC!

I feel it'll be obvious liquid was spilled lol. I can tell by looking at it

It won't hurt if the system isn't powered on

 

But at least take it off the computerso it doesn't receive any electricity

Hence why I said clean it off as best you can, if you use isopropyl alcohol you should be able to get it all off.

would taking a hair dryer to it be a bad idea?

Use rubbing alcohol top clean it off.

AFTER you clean it yes that's fine, but you don't really need to because isopropyl alcohol will evaporate.

It depends on the temperature of the air as it leaves the hair dryer, I wouldn't recommend it. The number one most important factor to contribute to its complete drying is you taking it apart.

I don't think any got inside the card and again I don't have the nerve or wits to disassemble it comfortably, I'll wipe it down and let it dry over night

SOUP IS HIGH IN SODIUM (SALT) AND HIGHLY CONDUCTIVE. Clean it, let it dry, but for the love of (insert preferred diety) do not try to power it on again until you have cleaned it.
