I have a total of 16 or more cables plugged into the back of my PC. A mixture of monitors, peripherals, networking and audio equipment. It adds up. I've kind of given up on managing those cables.

You can get cable routing solutions that attach to the underside and back of a desk to keep things bundled up. You can also get coils which keep all the cables together.

I found a like 40 feet of plastic 3in drain piping in my attic that the previous owner left, cut a piece the lenth of my desk, sliced out 1/4 of it, and screwed it to the back of my desk. Now all of the cables from my desk to my PC is in the pipe and cant be seen. Keeps things looking nice and clean.

I just stopped looking at and worrying about the cable mess. Though these days a lot of what would be plugged into my computer is over the network printer/scanner/nas/and other things i forget right now
