Suggestions for 50mm lenses under $200

Hey guys I'm getting a new Canon t5i with the standard kit lenses. I am further looking for a sharper 50mm lense for the camera. Do any of you photographers have suggestions for Ines under $200?

Thanks

You can get the "nifty fifty" canon 50mm f1.8 for around 110USD or even less if you buy one used.

Keep in mind though that the nifty fifty is made for full format cameras, so on your 700D it will be equivalent to an 80mm lens due to the smaller sensor.

It doesn't matter who big the image circle is.

I'd definitely get the STM version

Or you can always go for a 35mm'ish focal length because you're using a cropped sensor camera.

I second the nifty fifty that canon offer's. Its just over $100 and is quite a good lens considering the cost. Anything better on canons side will go well above $200 when it comes to a 50mm. Of you want a possibly sharper lens, there is the 40mm f2.8, but you lose out on light. You would have to look at some reviews to tell if it is actually sharper though.

You could get the 50mm f1.4 used for about $200, its a larger max aperture, better construction and its USM (although if you get the STM that is kinda moot.)

Options are always welcome I guess. Personally, I got the 50mm f1.4 instead used and have to say I like it, although I can't compare since I never used a 50 1.8, but I hear its loud(hence the STM thing) and very badly built.
