Would Server CPU's Work Better with x264 encoder on OBS?

If one were to buy a could server cpu's would the X264 encoder work better from having having more cores than a 5960x?

What specific cpu's.

 

Dual e5 2670's would be about the same speed, maybe a bit faster, but x264 doesn't really like more than around 8 threads(for quality)

 

Anything on 1366 or 771 would be slower

In generally the upper limit for x264 encoding is about 22 cores.

Having 8 2ghz cores is much better then having 6 2.5ghz cores.

Also real cores tend to perform better then hyper threaded cores but that's really spending lots of money for a marginally performance increase.

Yeah I was just wondering, because if someone was like a professional streamer they could justify the price.

Yeah, it would be counted as a operating cost.
