Need help with Pcie lanes

Hey,

      I am looking to upgrade my GTX 780 to a 1080Ti Sli setup in the coming months and i am a little confused with the pcie lane configuration of my setup.

I have a Z170 Asus Maxumus VIII Formula and a i7 6700K O.C to 4.75GHz with a 950 Pro M.2 SSD.

If i do make the upgrade will the lanes be distributed as X8-X8 or will the M.2 take up X4 and then be distributed as X8 X4 X4?

Also will i have issues with bottle necking  if i use this setup?

Gpu's run at x8 x8 off cpu

 

m.2 runs at x4 from the chip(there are anouther 20 lanes from the chipset)

What about the FPS bottleneck At/below 4K?

what res are you playing at? I see no reason for 1080 SLI other than 4k. Also, AMD cards and 1080ti are inc, I would hold those a little while

3440 x 1440 on a 4K ultrawide G-sync monitor .And yes im waiting for the 1080Ti's
