24 Pin mobo power doesnt look like it should fit

I'm using the EVGA Supernova 1000 G2 and Asus X99-A II and the 24 pin power some of the house shaped pins go into square shaped pin holes on the motherboard and it does fit but I'm afraid it'll short circuit if I launch it. is this okay?

Did you put it in backwards? Otherwise its an engineering STANDARD, so I seriously doubt that it will short circuit.

If I put it in the other way the clip wouldn't clip onto anything
