So after hours of researching.. I've decided to go with Intel for my Cpu rather than AMD as there were rumours that they are gping to kill AM3 + socket .

When I build my rig... I want it to last for 5 to 6 years . But I'm confused whether to go with lga 1151 or lga 1156 or lga 2011v3

Other parts

Gpu Rx480 8Gb for 2 years and then buy another one and run them in crossfire

RAM 2x8GB DDRR4

Honestly theres no way to "future proof" with something like a motherboard, a new revolutionary feature could be brought out next year, that would trump all current features. (not likely to happen, but who knows)

Just get one that has everything you'll need, 2/3 PCI-e slots, 4+ Sata connectors, possibly an m.2 slot, good onboard audio unless you're buying a soundcard.

get the latest socket. thing is if you're keeping it for 5 years then, in five years you will be buying a totally new one so just get the best you can afford now. I built my computer 5 years ago and I maxed out the RAM so all I have needed to upgrade is the size of my SSD and my GPU

What? Haven't you seen how fast Intel kills off a platform?

LGA 1155 > LGA 1150 > LGA 1151

1155 was around 2011. That was only 5 years ago and we've already had 3 different platforms. Ain't no intel board you buy is gonna last you through different 3 generations CPUs. Unless you stick to your babe like how Sandy bridge users are still using their hardware till today.

i5 2400 | ASUS RTX 4090 TUF OC | Seasonic 1200W Prime Gold | WD Green 120gb | WD Blue 1tb | some ram | a random case
