Will this CPU be good for games like Grand Theft Auto 5 and Black Ops 3

NTDaws

So I am selling my Motherboard and CPU and. And I am getting a EVGA E685 and a i5 2500k. Will these components be fine for games like GTA 5 with a GTX 960 SCC by EVGA? I will have 16GB of memory. How much should I overclock this too?

I7 2600 might be better for $130 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Intel-Core-i7-2600-SR00B-3-40-GHZ-4-Core-8-Thread-Processor-/262739075130?hash=item3d2c78203a:g:yTIAAOSwHMJYPEax

Its not overclockable, but the hyperthreading and four cores might be better for GTA V while running other programs. Base clock is 100Mhz higher as well.

If you can get those to 4 GHz or more, they still hold their ground.

Actually, if you have an OC motherboard, the i7 2600K is as low as $149USD on ebay.

i currently own an i7 2600 that is OC to 104.5x39 4 cores (a little over 4ghz) or x42 single core with 1866 ram . the performance in bench marks generally place me just under a i5-6600. i have a 970 tho but i can run tests for you if you would like.

i can also tell u that at that clock speed i lose about 20-25% in benchmarks if i disable hyper-thread. that would require you to OC the i5 to about 4.9 to be equivalent. (Theoretically)

Your mileage may vary.....
