i7 6700k vs i5 6600k?

Depends on what you want to use it for.

The i7 only makes sense if you are going to be doing lots of video editing and rendering which uses the 4 cores and 8 threads, gaming just uses 4 cores so the threads on the i7 are basically useless.

The 6700k is faster in Gaming, but the 6600k has everything you need and will do just fine.

Not true. Many games are starting to utilize 8 threads such as Witcher 3, utilize 8 threads, In 1080p, he would see it most beneficial to get an i7 over an i5 and most importantly, the OP never knows what he would be doing. I never had an interest in streaming, recording, editing ect until I actually had a PC that could do it. (Blah blah i3, eh, takes a lot of tinkering but I can recording, stream, edit ect. 720p60FPS 90% of games)
