How much would it be worth?

I plan on doing a new pc build hopefully by January, all I need are two more parts (the motherboard and ram. I got an i7-6800k on sale for $380).

 

I plan on selling parts from my current system after I upgrade, mainly the cpu, motherboard, and graphics card.

Was curious how much someone would consider an i7-4790k to be worth? looking on PCPartpicker it shows new ones to be $330ish. I figured hopefully at least $250 by chance? it overclocks pretty decently to a stable 4.5ghz @ 1.3 volts. Still have the intel stock cooler (never even touched it) and the original box for it.

 

As for the motherboard I'm not entirely sure how much that would go for since I can't really find it in many places online. Saw a listing for it on eBay, it marked for $185 there. I figured resell for maybe $110-120ish? It works perfectly fine, have the original box with anti-static bag, and the cover for the cpu socket.

 

For my gpu I won't be replacing it until Feb-March time. It's a Gigabyte gtx 980 (without backplate). This one I don't really know how much I could try selling it at. PCPartpicker shows a few listings for it at $450ish, but that sounds like a rip off to me considering a 1070 is around that price.

 

When it comes to other components in my build, I plan on reusing the drives and power supply for my next build. When it comes to ram I'm not sure if I'll sell mine. It's a perfectly good 16gb kit, however I don't have the original box for it. Considering just keeping it on hand for if i ever need it. Might just give it to my friend, him only having 8gb of ram.

If you want to be a great friend than giving the RAM to him would be amazing. The 980 is still great for 1080p, but resale has dropped greatly since you can get the basically equal 1060 for cheaper, while using less power. No clue about mobo resale prices

Selling the CPU and MOBO together would likely be better. I would recommend going through craigslist if you live in/around a big city.

I figured anyone that would buy the 980 would probably be doing it if they already had one and wanted to go SLI

yeah local is best as you don't have to pay for shipping or ebay fees

Selling mobo and CPU as a package is better for two reasons. You can try to trick buyer by calculating good price for combo, like $350 and list both as separate for $275 and $125. The other good thing is that CPU will protect mobo pins if you have happened to misplace the original cover plate.
