Yes. Personly, I find that grammar and punctuation makes a sentence not only mean more, but makes it understand it. I can understand if you speak another language, but there is no excuse for not hitting the shift button.

 

Adapters are built for the scenario you are describing, so, it will work just fine. As long as you can plug it in.

 

However, not that it will matter to you, things do get more complicated when dealing with multiple displays.

Yes, an HDMI to DVI adapter will work.
