Like the title says, I am confused as to what to ask for Christmas. Should I get a Masterkeys pro s and a g602, or something else? I can't decide what, and thought you guys could help me. Thanks!

Ask for something you need. Like the G602 I'd say is a necessity (I jave one and it's just great for everythign) then the keyboard is a waste of money.

Agree with the mouse, but some people think that any keyboard would be better than the one I have (apple wireless one, the one that uses AA batteries)

The Coolermaster Masterkeys Pro S is very good, I like it a lot! I'm currently working on my review of it, only have to add some pictures still (spoilers: It's a positive review).

As for mouse, I have tried the G602 and it's fine, but I'm not really a mouse guy.

Which switch would you recommend? Also, is there any way to test them for free or super cheap? Cause I don't want to have to buy a keyboard just to test switches.

Coolermaster (CM Storm) has a tester for Blues, Browns, Reds, Greens, Clears and Blacks which you can get for 15 USD. In the past you could even get 15 USD off a CM Storm keyboard if you showed proof of purchase of that tester, not sure if they is still going on (basically that makes it so you can get a switch tester for free).

Otherwise you can go to a store and try out the different keyswitches too, or even ask an employee at the store if they have such a tester.

Overall, I like Blues the most, but that keyswitch was not available on the keyboard I wanted to get, so I went with Browns. Browns are fine too, just IMO lack the tactile feedback (they have a tactile bump, but it's barely audible and I don't feel it) and are more of a midway between Blues and Reds. They are good for gaming and typing and not too loud.

Reds are a bit better if you want a lighter switch and no tactile bump. (the tactile bump is the feeling you get on Browns, Blues, Greens and Clears when you press the switch halfway down, when the switch activates. This gives the Blues their distinct clicky sound). Reds and Blacks don't have that tactile bump (making them 'linear'), people say these are a bit better for gaming, but a bit less good for typing.

It all comes down to personal preference though. I would recommend you try before you buy a keyboard. Blues, Browns and Reds are the most common switches, followed by Blacks (which are a heavier Reds).

Note: I only talked about Cherry MX switches, so when I said "Blues", "Browns", etc. I am referring to the Cherry MX keyswitches. There are other switch types (like Kailh, Gateron, Topre, etc.), but the latter two are very uncommon and the first is a knockoff of the Cherry MX switches. I have tried a couple of these Kailh boards in a store and felt like  some of the keys require more force than others.

Will the $15 really pay out with just a switch tester? And there are no computer shops near me, the closest one is the Microcenter in Denver, Colorado and I live in Laramie, Wyoming.
