I'll getting a pc built for 3D modeling and rendering and I wonder what I need of hardware? What is most important, cpu, gpu, ram, ssd, hdd, what and how much :S

The biggest problem is to navigate in big 3D models. Render time, and the time it takes for the render application to start is long in big 3D models.

The programs wer mostly use at work is Archicad, Vray and Skechup Pro

I have read that Vray render with cpu. what is the point of buying a good graphics card then?

Some 3d modelling programs can use a lot of cpu threads, if they can you can benefit from high core count xeons.

3d modelling can also be done on gpus, if the programs can use properly try to get a quadro/firepro workstation card.

If it uses less than 12gb of VRAM, there's no reason for a quadro

In some 3d modelling software a cheap quadro can beat out any gtx card in rendering times, there is more to them then just higher vram, most don't even have more then 6gb of vram.

Any trustable video to prove that?

A GPU is a GPU, just because it says "Quadro" does not mean that its only for a workstation and not for gaming, linus even said so himself

Both the amd firepro/nvidia qudro are based on the radeon/gtx cards, but they are not the same the workstations cards are designed to do workstation tasks (usually more computation power) then the "gaming" counterparts which are designed to do just gaming, doesn't mean you can't use a quadro to game that the gaming card will do better and vice versa for the workststion tasks.

Also don't think Linus doesn't make mistakes, or has an unbiased opinion, just because he doesn't recommend quadros doesn't mean they are useless.

Hmmmm.

What about this?

Lenovo ThinkStation P510

  • Xeon E5-1650V4 / 3.6 GHz (6 cores / 12 threads)

  • 32 GB RAM

  • 512 GB SSD

  • Windows 10 Pro
  • NVIDIA Quadro M4000, 8 GB

Should i change anything?? :P

You could go with a higher core count xeon and or add a hdd for more storage for your files if .5TB is not enough.
