Windows 10 Installation Help

Go to solution Solved by Enderman,

1) unplug all drives except the one you want to install windows on

2) when you get to that screen, delete everything until only unallocated space is left

3) select "unallocated space" and click next and finish installing windows

So I am installing Windows 10 Pro on my PC using the USB installation method. I pass all the steps except for "Where do you want to install windows?". I click on my main HDD, which I formatted sadly, and it gives me this message.IMG_8162.JPG

here is the drive (Drive 0 Partition 3)

Here is a simple way to fix this :

  • Follow these steps if the hard disk volume size is less than 2.19 TB:
    1. Temporarily disable the EFI Boot Sources setting in the BIOS:
      1. Restart the computer, and then press F10 to enter the BIOS.
      2. Navigate to Storage > Boot Order , and then disable the EFI Boot Sources .
      3. Select File > Save Changes > Exit .
    2. Install the Windows operating system.
    3. Enable the EFI Boot Sources setting in the BIOS:
      1. Restart the computer, and then press F10 to enter the BIOS.
      2. Navigate to Storage > Boot Order , and then enable the EFI Boot Sources .
      3. Select File > Save Changes > Exit

Also, installing linux and gparting it would probably work

It's because you have other partitions on the drive that are using the MBR partition table... if you want to use GPT you will have to delete the other partitions. If not, then just re-do the installation USB and set it to use the MBR partition table instead, then select that partiton to install to.

You can use rufus to make the bootable USB if you have an iso file  Rufus - Create bootable USB drives the easy way
