Fan Running at Max Speed?

So I've made this post a while back but didn't get very good feedback to help with my problem. I have 4 of the Corsair AF120 BLED Quiet Edition fans (http://bit.ly/1kb8dwG) and when I first got them I noticed they were 3 pin headers, and my z97 PC MATE supports 4 pin fan controlling, but when I plug them in, as usual they run at full speed and sound like this on my Blue Yeti at lowest gain on cardiod on the opposite side of my table: (http://bit.ly/2fPGSTo) Can I just get an adapter from 3 pin to 4 pin to control it? in my BIOS all it shows is my CPU fan, which is 4 pin.

Get some fans you can control

But whyare they called quiet edition if they sound like that? I've seen others have it run very quietly when they record it

Because they are controlled to the proper speed for the temperature. You have to connect them to the SYS_FAN headers, not the CPU_FAN headers. The CPU_FAN headers will not do voltage control, only PWM.

They are all plugged into SYS_FAN headers

Make sure they are plugged in properly. Does your SYS_FAN header support 3-PIN?

Ok so heres the situation, The header on my mobo for SYS_FAN1 is 4 pin, which I am able to see and control in my bios, my 2nd fan is plugged into SYS_FAN2, which is 3 pin, and my 3rd and 4th fan is plugged into molex. So I geuss its my motherboards problem, which I'm getting a new one this christmas

Can you not control anything in the BIOS? Check your manual too. It should have a section on fan headers.

Ok so the hardware control section is my Bios shows CPUFAN1, which is my hyper 212 evo, which I can control, CPUFAN2, which has nothing plugged into so it's at 0rpm, and the SYS_FAN1 which is the 4pin fan header, everything else I cant control, and I'll check my manual

How can you tell they are running at full speed? If you're relying on noise alone, how do you know the noise isn't instead coming from just the fans running off of the molex fan adapters since those are definitely running at 100%.

You can setup Speedfan to control 3pins. That MSI baord should support it. It should also support MSIs own software, which has limitation for 3pins at 60%.
